Pumpkin Patch 2009

I love the fall! The colorful leaves, the weather, the food, the fun activities and holidays, the decorations, the pumpkin patches. I have this thing about "real" pumpkin patches; not the ones set up in Kmart parking lots (that's how the one is by our house), but farms that actually grow pumpkins that you can pick right from the vines. They get me in the "fall" mood and and I just love giving my boys the fun experience.

Luckily for us, since there aren't any close by our house, both sets of grandparents have really fun farms/pumpkin patches near their houses. Each year we've gone to one of them, then last year while we were in Texas Rachel took us to a fun one in Austin.


So, last weekend we went to visit my family and I was delighted to find out that Staheli's Family Farm had just opened up the fall festivities that week.

2009 Pumpkin Patch/Farm Experience

Zac wasn't quite sure about landing in a pile of dried corn pieces instead of sand, but Kayden climbed right in and loved it! He had a great time digging and playing in the corn.

Okay, so they didn't get to actually ride real horses, but we did see lots of real horses and cows

Zac looked around for a while to find the perfect pumpkin. When he found the one he wanted, the farmer offered to let him help her cut it from the vine, but he chose to just watch instead.
Then she helped us search for the perfect little pumpkin for Kayden.
Kayden was sure excited to have his own pumpkin! In fact, he LOVED every minute of the farm and pumpkin patch and was super excited about everything we did there. His enthusiasm made it so much fun!

Thanks for another fun afternoon, Grandma! Kayden can't stop talking about the "punkie patch." In fact, today in the car he told me, "Punkie Patch fun! Punkie patch again!"
