Last weekend we had so much fun together as a family... on Friday we went camping up at Mt. Charleston for the night. We left around lunch time to head up there and found a great camping spot. It was so beautiful being up in the mountains, surrounded by pine trees and breathing clean, fresh, pine (and camp fire) scented air! The best part about being up there is that it is so much cooler than being down in Vegas! It felt great and was actually really cold at night. I was a little nervous about taking Kayden, but he did great and loved being outside in the great outdoors! Zac was so excited to go; he talked about it all week. Matt made lots of delicious food in his dutch ovens, too! YUM!

After we set up the tent and unpacked all of our stuff, Zac was ready for a hike! He took off up the hill next to our site. We had fun hiking around, enjoying nature. He's a great little hiker!
Of course, Zac found some great sticks right away. He was even nice enough to find some for Mom and Dad to carry, too.
Kayden was too busy chewing on his fingers to carry the stick Zac found for him. :)

We saw some huge trees up there! Many were at least two or three times this wide at the bottom of the trunk.
So happy to be outside!
From the second we arrived, Zac was ready to build the campfire and break out the marshmellows. We made him wait a while, but boy did he have fun when we finally did.
We had such a fun time and were so glad we went!We had fun together the rest of the weekend, too, just doing things around town. We were so happy to have Grandpa, Grandma, and Uncle Ryan come stay with us Sunday and Monday!
We had a great time with them and did lots of fun stuff. Too bad every weekend isn't a three day weekend!

That looks awesome! How far away from Vegas is that place? I never knew that you were a camping girl.
I just love camping...it's so nice to just not have to worry about being dirty for once! Parker LOVES marshmallows!

I am so glad i bumped into you at Primm, SMALL WORLD. Your little guys are adorable, sorry i was so awkward i was caught off gaurd and on my way out and in a hurry. We need to get together and catch up. If you ever need a babysitter, LET ME KNOW i want to eat them they are so cute.

Those are great shots you got. Camping is the best. Where is Mt. Charleston? And that's fun Zac gets to go to preschool. It is nice when you can run errands with only one! Hope you guys are doing well!
Mt Charleston is just north of Las Vegas. You can see it from Vegas. It's really pretty close and is usually 20-30 degrees cooler up there. We love it! There's also a ski resort there for skiing in the winter.
What a fun weekend! I can't wait to go camping again. It looks beautiful! Can't wait to see Zac and kayden. They are sooo cute!
