That about sums up our week last week...aboard the Carnival Elation.
For the first time since we had Zac, Matt and I went on a trip by ourselves! It was wonderful to be able to just relax and enjoy ourselves without worrying about the boys. We took a five night cruise to Mexico. Some of the highlights include eating way too much delicious food, laying out and reading on the deck while looking out over the ocean, reading two good books, catching up on sleep, relaxing without a pressing schedule, not having to clean or cook or doing anything for 5 days :), watching dolphins jump and swim while we ran on the upper deck track, cooler temps, and let's not forget the turndown service with chocolates and towel animals. :)

Cabo San Lucas
Our first port (and the one we were excited about) was Cabo. The water was gorgeous, and we had a fun time hanging out on the beach and swimming. We took a glass bottom boat out to Lover's Beach and the famous arch...the best part was that we had our own private boat and tour guide. The water was breathtaking!

private boat tour--in front of the arch
there's the boat way out there!Since we only had one day, we didn't dive :( but we did see lots of cool tropical fish from our glass bottom boat. We both LOVE the beach, so we wished we could have stayed even longer, but it was a fun day!
Ensenada
We weren't so excited about stopping in Ensenada, but since this was the cruise that worked out for us and we didn't want to leave the boys for any longer, we took it. We didn't even plan to spend much time off the boat, but we ended up having a good time.
We took a tour bus to La Bufadora, which they said was one of only three natural blowholes in the world. It shoots the ocean water up like 70 feet. It was cool to watch for a little while, then we walked around some of the shops. I was most excited about being able to buy some Mexican vanilla! It was interesting to hear more about the culture and way of life there from the tour bus guide, who talked non-stop the entire 30 minute ride there and back.
