Halloween this year was so much fun! Both boys were so excited and got really into everything about the holiday...
the costumes...
Kayden loves monkeys and makes the cutest little monkey sound that sounds something like this, "ooh, ooh, ah, ah, ah." He LOVED his monkey costume and got so excited to put on his "monkey suit" whenever he got a chance.

the stories...

Luckily we have a huge collection of Halloween books, because all day long, the whole month of October, no matter what time of day or night, the boys wanted to be reading Halloween stories. It was their favorite thing to do every day!
Even Grandma and Grandpa got in on the fun!

the pumpkins...
Zac wanted a SCARY pumpkin, so he helped Daddy carve it.
Kayden giving his pumpkin a hug before we carved it. He wanted a nice, happy one.

And then he was back to reading his Halloween stories.
the parties...
Trunk or Treat at the church...this was the best picture I could get :)
Ever since the trunk or treat on the 23rd, Kayden has been obsessed with treats and trick or treating. That night, he realized what fun it was to say, "trick or treat," hold out his little pumpkin bag, and have people drop treats into it. First thing the next morning he asked for his pumpkin bag, and when Matt brought it to him after dumping out the candy, he looked inside and said sadly, "Yots and yots of treats? Where the yots and yots of treats?" There was no fooling him!

the spookiness...

There have been lots of ghosts and vampires hanging out at our house this month...just listen and you'll hear the "oooohhhh" of a ghost, then look around and you'll see sharp fangs running through the house.
In fact, there's been so much talk of spooky ghosts that several times Kayden woke up crying, and when I went into his room, he told me, "Scary ghost," then he'd point behind his crib or under his pillow. Poor little guy!
the trick or treating...

All week long Kayden carried his "punkie bag" around with him, and whenever some one mentioned trick or treating, he'd hold it up and expect a treat. He was so excited every time Zac talked about going trick or treating!
Halloween night he had a blast! As we were walking, he kept saying, "Knock, knock knock," then "trick or treat." When he'd walk up to the door, he'd say, "trick or treat," then reach for the bowl of treats and say, "I 'yike' this one. I 'yike' this one," until we dragged him away. As we walked away, he'd tell the people, "Halloween! Happy Halloween!" It was so much fun! Zac was super excited, too, and we just couldn't move fast enough from house to house.
and of course, the treats!

On Halloween we had such a fun day together as a family! It started with pumpkin waffles with chocolate chip faces, then we were off to Zac's soccer game. When we got home, we carved pumpkins, the boys took naps, then the night of fun started! We went to "Treat Street" at the Pulte models, then had a delicious dinner at the Peterson's house before we all went trick or treating around the neighborhood. By the time we were done, we were all exhausted but happy about all of the fun we had!
